Goals and Objectives of TAMP
- To further the use of fresh and frozen meat and meat products
- To promote processed meat products through education and research
- To promote the general welfare of the meat industry and to facilitate the interchange of information between members
Through a continuing contractual agreement with Texas AgriLife Extension Service, the TAMP office is physically located in the Kleberg building on the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. The Executive Director of the Association is Dr. Davey Griffin, Associate Professor and Extension Meat Science Specialist, Texas AgriLife Extension Service.
TAMP's annual meeting is held once a year in the summer. The 2016 convention will be held in Corpus Christi, TX on August 4-6, 2016. The hotel block at the Holiday Inn - Downtown Marina expires on July 15. Make your reservation now by calling 888-729-5058 and using reservation code "TAM".
The convention will kick off with an opening reception on Thursday Evening. This year we are planning a fishing excursion on Friday morning, a plant visit Friday afternoon and dinner with entertainment at the Corpus Christi Aquarium Friday night. Saturday will include program speakers, supplier showcase and a live auction and dinner. More details to be sent out soon.
