Goals and Objectives of TAMP

- To further the use of fresh and frozen meat and meat products

- To promote processed meat products through education and research

- To promote the general welfare of the meat industry and to facilitate the interchange of information between members

 

Our Work

Through a continuing contractual agreement with Texas AgriLife Extension Service, the TAMP office is physically located in the Kleberg building on the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. The Executive Director of the Association is Dr. Davey Griffin, Professor and Extension Meat Science Specialist, Texas AgriLife Extension Service.

TAMP's annual meeting is held once a year in the summer. In 2023, the convention was held the first weekend in August in Lake Charles, LA. Watch for information regarding the 2024 convention (which will probably be held in College Station, TX) on this page and on the TAMP blog. The convention is generally held the first or second weekend in August.
